Day 1. Ende or Maumere – Moni Village: A Scenic Journey into the Highlands
Your Flores overland adventure begins with a warm welcome at your hotel or the airport in either Ende or Maumere (Ende is the recommended starting point). From there, we set off on a scenic drive toward the charming highland village of Moni, nestled at the foot of Mount Kelimutu.
But this is no ordinary transfer—every mile of the journey is punctuated with beauty. We’ll pause at several picture-perfect viewpoints, where you can step out, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and capture stunning photos of Flores’ lush landscapes unfolding before you. Along the way, we’ll also visit a traditional village, offering your first glimpse into the rich cultural heritage that defines this remarkable island.
As the afternoon light softens, we arrive in Moni Village, a peaceful settlement cradled by rolling hills and cool mountain breezes. After checking in to your chosen hotel, you’ll have time to unwind, explore the village at your own pace, and prepare for the adventure that awaits at dawn.

Day 2. Moni – Kelimutu Lake – Wologai Village – Ende – Riung: Sunrise Over the Colored Lakes
Wake before dawn and prepare for a morning that will linger in your memory forever. An early drive takes you up the slopes of Mount Kelimutu—about 45 minutes from Moni—where a gentle trek along a paved path leads you to the summit, just in time to witness the sunrise.
As the first rays of light break over the horizon, the three-colored crater lakes reveal themselves in all their glory—each pool glowing in a distinct hue, shifting between turquoise, emerald, and deep burgundy depending on the light and season. Kelimutu is the major attraction of Flores, and standing at its summit, surrounded by panoramic views of rolling hills and distant volcanoes, is a moment of pure magic—one that words can scarcely capture.
After soaking in the beauty, we make our way back down to the parking area and return to your hotel in Moni for a well-deserved breakfast.

Day 3. Riung – Bajawa: Exploring the 17 Isles Marine Garden and So'a Hot Spring
After an early breakfast at your hotel, prepare for a morning of coastal enchantment as we explore the Riung Marine Garden—also known as the “17 Isles Marine Garden”—one of the most spectacular snorkeling sites in northern Flores.
A short transfer brings you to the pier, where a local wooden boat awaits to carry you on an unforgettable island-hopping adventure. Our first destination is Kalong Island, where you’ll witness thousands of fruit bats flying out of the mangrove trees—a mesmerizing sight set against the backdrop of the sea.
We then continue to Bako/Tembang, a vibrant snorkeling spot where crystal-clear waters reveal a kaleidoscope of coral gardens teeming with colorful reef fish. Next, we visit Tiga Island, where you can snorkel, swim, or simply relax on the beach. A delicious BBQ lunch will be served on the beach, allowing you to dine with the sea breeze in your hair and the endless ocean as your view.

Day 4. Bajawa – Bena Village – Aimere – Borong – Ruteng: Ancient Villages and Highland Charms
After breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the iconic Bena Traditional Village—one of Flores’ most well-preserved megalithic sites. Here, you’ll walk among ancient stone structures, admire the distinctive cone-roofed houses, and learn about the spiritual beliefs and social structures of the Ngada people.
Continuing our journey toward Ruteng, we make a fascinating stop at Aimere Village on the south coast. Here, you’ll witness the traditional process of making local alcoholic drinks from palm juice—a craft passed down through generations. You’ll see the tapping, fermentation, and distillation process, and even have the chance to taste the final product.
Next, we visit the serene Rana Mese Lake, a natural crater lake surrounded by lush hills—a perfect spot for reflection and photography.
Arriving in Ruteng, we check in to your chosen hotel for the night, surrounded by the cool mountain air and the anticipation of tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 5. Ruteng – Cancar – Denge – Wae Rebo: Spider-Web Rice Fields and the Village in the Clouds
Enjoy an early breakfast before we depart for one of Flores’ most extraordinary destinations—the legendary Wae Rebo Traditional Village. Along the way, we’ll make a memorable stop at Cancar Village to witness the Lodok—spectacular spider-web rice fields that fan out across the hillsides in mesmerizing geometric patterns, a testament to the ingenuity of the Manggarai people.
Continuing our journey through Narang Village and toward the south coast, we arrive at Denge Village, the trailhead for the trek to Wae Rebo. From here, we embark on a 3-hour trek through dense, verdant jungle, following a winding trail that climbs steadily into the misty highlands.
And then, emerging from the clouds like a vision from another era, Wae Rebo reveals itself—a cluster of iconic cone-shaped houses, known as Mbaru Niang, set against a sweeping valley backdrop. This is not just a village; it is a living cultural treasure, one of the last remaining places on Earth where ancestral architecture and way of life are preserved in their purest form.
Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the community. A delicious dinner will be served, and as the sun sets over the valley, you’ll share stories with your hosts, listening to tales and songs passed down through generations.

Day 6. Wae Rebo – Denge – Lembor – Labuan Bajo: Farewell to the Highlands

The walk back to Denge Village takes approximately 3 hours, but the journey feels different this time—lighter, more reflective. Upon reaching Denge, we continue our drive toward Labuan Bajo, passing through Lembor Village and enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. The landscape transforms before your eyes, from lush highlands to rolling savannahs, and eventually to the sparkling blue waters of the Flores Sea.

Day 7. Labuan Bajo – Kelor Island – Menjerite – Kalong Island (Lunch/Dinner): Islands, Snorkeling, and Sunset Bats
After breakfast at your hotel, we transfer to the harbor, where a traditional wooden boat awaits to carry you across the sparkling waters of Komodo National Park.
Our first destination is Kelor Island, where a short trek to the hilltop rewards you with a breathtaking panorama of turquoise waters, rugged coastlines, and scattered islets stretching to the horizon—a photographer’s dream and a moment of pure awe.
Back on board, we continue to Menjerite, a world-class snorkeling spot where crystal-clear waters reveal a vibrant underwater world. Our first destination today is Padar Island for a morning trek to the summit—a perfect opportunity to capture the sunrise and the spectacular panorama that has made this island famous. The view from the top is nothing short of breathtaking, with the surrounding islands and turquoise waters stretching endlessly before you.
We then sail to Pink Beach, one of Komodo’s most treasured gems. Its blush-colored sands, created by microscopic red coral fragments, create a striking contrast with the azure sea. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel in vibrant underwater gardens, where colorful coral formations and schools of tropical fish create a living masterpiece beneath the surface.
As the morning unfolds, we make our way to Komodo Island, the namesake of the national park and the original habitat of the legendary Komodo dragon.
