Detailed Itinerary: Flores Land TOur (6D/5N)
Day 1. Labuan Bajo – Ruteng (Approx. 135 km · 5 hours driving): Spider-Web Rice Fields and Hobbit Cave
Your Flores adventure begins with a pick-up at your accommodation in Labuan Bajo. From there, we set off on a scenic drive toward the highland town of Ruteng, with fascinating stops along the way that reveal the rich cultural and natural heritage of Flores.
Our first stop is Cara Village in the Cancar area, where you’ll hike up a hill to witness one of Flores’ most spectacular sights—the Lodok, or spider-web rice fields. These ancient, intricately designed terraces fan out across the hillsides in mesmerizing geometric patterns, a testament to the ingenuity of the Manggarai people.
Continuing our journey, we visit Liang Bua Natural Cave, the famous archaeological site where the remains of Homo floresiensis—the “hobbit” of human evolution—were discovered in 2003. Walk through the cavernous limestone chamber and visit the mini-museum to learn about this groundbreaking discovery that rewrote human history.
Arriving in Ruteng, we check in to your chosen accommodation for the night, surrounded by the cool mountain air and the anticipation of tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 2. Ruteng – Bajawa (Approx. 135 km · 5 hours driving): Traditional Villages and Crater Lakes
After breakfast, we begin our journey toward Bajawa, with enriching stops along the way that reveal the rich cultural and natural heritage of Flores.
Our first stop is Ruteng Pu’u Village, where you’ll see the prototype of the traditional Manggarai house—a unique architectural treasure that represents the cultural identity of the region.
Next, we visit the serene Rana Mese Crater Lake, a natural crater lake surrounded by lush hills—a perfect spot for reflection and photography.
Continuing our journey, we make a fascinating stop at Aimere Village on the south coast. Here, you’ll witness the traditional process of making local alcoholic drinks from palm sap—a craft passed down through generations. You’ll see the tapping, fermentation, and distillation process, and even have the chance to taste the final product.

Day 3. Bajawa – Riung (Approx. 70 km · 3 hours driving): Ancient Megaliths and Natural Hot Springs
After breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the iconic Bena Traditional Village—one of Flores’ most well-preserved megalithic sites. Here, you’ll walk among ancient stone structures, admire the distinctive cone-roofed houses, and learn about the spiritual beliefs and social structures of the Ngada people. Interact with the friendly local inhabitants, capture stunning photographs, and immerse yourself in the timeless atmosphere of this remarkable village.
After exploring Bena, we return to Bajawa for lunch before continuing our journey toward the northern coast. Along the way, we’ll stop at Mangeruda Natural Hot Spring, where you can soak in warm, mineral-rich waters and let the day’s adventures melt away.

Day 4. Riung – A Day Excursion in Riung Marine Park: Exploring the Marine Gardens
After breakfast at your hotel, prepare for a full day of coastal enchantment as we explore the Riung Marine Park—one of the most spectacular snorkeling sites in northern Flores.
A short transfer brings you to the pier, where a local wooden boat awaits to carry you on an unforgettable island-hopping adventure. Our first destination is Kalong Island, where you’ll witness thousands of fruit bats hanging on the mangrove trees—a mesmerizing sight set against the backdrop of the sea.
We then continue to Bako, Pulau Rutong, and Pulau Tiga—vibrant snorkeling spots where crystal-clear waters reveal a kaleidoscope of coral gardens teeming with colorful reef fish. Here, you can snorkel, swim, or simply relax on the beach and soak in the serenity of this untouched paradise.
A delicious lunch will be served on one of the islands, allowing you to dine with the sea breeze in your hair and the endless ocean as your view.
In the afternoon, we return to the pier and transfer back to your accommodation in Riung.

Day 5. Riung – Moni (Approx. 185 km · 7 hours driving): Coastal Beauty and Highland Serenity
After breakfast, we embark on a long but scenic drive from Riung to Moni Village, the gateway to the legendary Kelimutu volcano. The journey itself is a visual feast, with several stops along the way to capture the beauty of Flores’ landscapes.
Our first stop is Panggajawa Blue Stone Beach, a stunning coastal spot where blue-hued pebbles meet the turquoise sea. Take a refreshing swim or simply relax on the shore and enjoy the soothing sound of the waves.
Continuing our journey, we visit Wologai Traditional Village via Ende, home to the Lio tribe. Here, you’ll explore distinctive traditional houses and learn about the customs, rituals, and way of life that have been preserved for generations.
As the afternoon light softens, we arrive in Moni Village, a peaceful settlement cradled by rolling hills and cool mountain breezes. After checking in to your chosen accommodation, you’ll have time to unwind, explore the village at your own pace, and prepare for the adventure that awaits at dawn.

Day 6. Moni – Kelimutu Lake – Ende or Maumere (Approx. 100 km to Maumere · 3 hours driving / 50 km to Ende): Sunrise Over the Colored Lakes
Wake before dawn—around 4:00 AM—and prepare for the highlight of your Flores journey: a visit to the mystical Kelimutu Three-Colored Lake. A one-hour drive from Moni brings you to the parking area, followed by a gentle 30-minute hike along paved steps to the summit.
As the first rays of light break over the horizon, the three crater lakes reveal themselves in all their glory—each pool glowing in a distinct hue, shifting between turquoise, emerald, and deep burgundy depending on the light and season. Surrounded by panoramic views of rolling hills and distant volcanoes, this is a moment of pure magic—one that words can scarcely capture.
After soaking in the beauty, we make our way back down to the parking area and return to your hotel in Moni for a well-deserved breakfast. On the way, we’ll stop at a waterfall for a refreshing break.
After breakfast, we continue our journey to Maumere or Ende, with several scenic stops along the way. You’ll be dropped off at your chosen accommodation or the airport for your next destination.
