KOMODO DRAGON TOUR (3-DAYS STAY ON BOAT)

The Komodo dragon is the star of this show, the largest living lizard on earth, found nowhere else but here. But a true Komodo adventure is about so much more than just the dragon.

That’s why we created our 3 Days Komodo Dragon Tour, not just a dragon-spotting trip, but a complete journey through the most spectacular islands, bays, and underwater worlds of Komodo National Park.

This is not a rushed day trip. This is not a crowded speedboat tour that races back to the harbor before dinner. This is a slow, immersive, three-day liveaboard adventure, designed for travelers who want to live on the sea, wake up at sunrise in the middle of the park, and explore Komodo at the pace it deserves.

KOMODO DRAGON TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1. Labuan Bajo - Kelor Island - Menjerite Bay - Kalong Island (L/D)

Pick Up service by our team from your hotel or the airport, you’ll enjoy a comfortable air-conditioned car ride to Labuan Bajo Harbor. Then boarding and get on board. You step onto local wooden boat, the crew welcomes you with warm smiles.
then short briefing from the tour guide about the boat facilities while we leave Labuan Bajo behind.

The first spot is Kelor Island, a small island with a spectacular view. A lush green hill rises from the turquoise water, begging to be climbed. The trek to the top takes only 10–15 minutes, a gentle path of natural stairs and rocky terrain. Most people, from children to active seniors, can manage it just fine. And the reward at the top? A view that will steal your breath. Rolling green hills meeting a sea so blue it almost hurts to look at. No crowds. No noise. Just you, the wind, and the endless horizon.

After descending from the hilltop, we sail to Manjarite Bay (sometimes spelled “Menjerite”). This hidden bay is, without exaggeration, one of the best snorkeling spots near Labuan Bajo. What makes it so special? The water is so clear you can see the bottom before you even put on your mask. Below the surface lies a thriving coral garden, healthy, colorful, and alive. Schools of tropical fish dart between the corals in shades of blue, yellow, orange, and striped black-and-white. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a clownfish hiding in its anemone. Back on the boat, our crew serves freshly cooked lunch, homemade Indonesian dishes prepared right in our small kitchen. You’ll eat on deck, with the sea breeze in your hair and nothing but blue water surrounding you.

Then heading to Kalong Island. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. This is why people choose a liveaboard. Kalong Island is not a place for trekking or snorkeling. It is a small island covered in dense mangrove forest — and it is home to thousands of fruit bats (kalong in local language). All day long, these bats hang upside down in the mangroves, sleeping, waiting for night to fall. They are nocturnal creatures. And just as the sun begins to set — around 05:30 PM – 06:00 PM depending on the season — they wake up.

And then it happens. A living river of bats pours out of the mangroves. They fly in wave after wave, forming a dark cloud against the orange, pink, and purple sky. The sound of their wings is like a soft whisper. The spectacle lasts for 15–30 minutes, until the sky turns dark and the bats disappear into the night to feed. You will watch this from the deck of your boat, anchored at a respectful distance. Hot tea or coffee in hand. Camera ready.

After the bats have flown and the sun has disappeared, we sail to a calm spot to anchor for the night. Our crew prepares warm dinner.  Eat on deck under a canopy of stars. There is no light pollution here, just the moon and the Milky Way. Overnight in the cabin on the boat.

Day 2. Padar Island - Pink Beach - Komodo Island - Manta Point/Taka Makasar (B/L/D)

Early morning, we will gently wake you for one of the most rewarding experiences of your journey, a short trek to the top of Padar Island. From the summit, you will witness a spectacular landscape that feels almost too beautiful to be real: three stunning bays curving into the turquoise sea, painted in shades of gold and pink as the sun rises.

After descending from Padar, breakfast will be served on board as we sail peacefully toward Pink Beach. Here, you are invited to snorkel in crystal-clear waters, swim at your own pace, or simply relax on the unique pink-tinted sand, a true paradise found only in Komodo.

Our next destination is Komodo Island, where a gentle walking trek through the forest awaits. Accompanied by an experienced local ranger, you will have the rare opportunity to search for the legendary Komodo dragon and observe other fascinating wildlife in their natural habitat.

Returning to the boat, we will continue our journey to Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Two of the finest snorkeling spots in the park. You are welcome to slip into the water and glide alongside graceful manta rays, should they choose to appear. (We kindly share an honest note: manta rays are wild creatures, and sightings depend on luck and weather. Even so, the underwater beauty here is always breathtaking.)

Throughout the day, you will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, freshly prepared meals enjoyed on deck with the difference spectacular views as your companion. At night, you will stay overnight on the boat, falling asleep to the gentle rocking of the waves and waking up already at your next destination.

Day 3. Siaba/Sebayur Island - Labuan Bajo (B/L)

This is the final day of your Komodo Dragon Tour, a day to savor every last moment on the water before returning to land. Your morning begins gently with a warm breakfast served on board, accompanied by the soft sounds of the sea and the morning light dancing on the water.

After breakfast, we invite you to join us for one last snorkeling adventure at Siaba Island or Sebayur Island, a place affectionately called “Turtle Point.” Here, you are welcome to swim alongside graceful sea turtles and admire the vibrant coral gardens beneath the surface. It is the perfect farewell to Komodo’s underwater wonders.

Following our snorkeling session, we will begin our peaceful journey back toward Labuan Bajo harbor. Along the way, a delicious lunch will be served on board, freshly prepared, lovingly cooked, and enjoyed with a view that stretches to the horizon.

Upon our arrival at the harbor, our driver will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you comfortably by car to your chosen destination, whether that is your hotel for a well-deserved rest, or the airport for your onward journey.

And with that, your Komodo Dragon Tour comes to a close. We hope you leave with a heart full of wonder, a camera full of memories, and a deep appreciation for the wild beauty of Komodo National Park. Thank you for trusting us with your adventure. Until we meet again on the sea, fair winds and following seas
