As the afternoon light softens, we arrive in Moni Village, a peaceful settlement cradled by rolling hills and cool mountain breezes. After checking in to your chosen hotel, you’ll have time to unwind, explore the village at your own pace, and prepare for the adventure that awaits at dawn.

Day 2. Moni – Ende – Riung (Approx. 180 km · 7 hours driving): Sunrise Over the Colored Lakes
Wake before dawn and prepare for a morning that will linger in your memory forever. An early drive takes you up the slopes of Mount Kelimutu—about an hour from Moni—where a gentle 45-minute trek along a paved path leads you to the summit, just in time to witness the sunrise.
As the first rays of light break over the horizon, the three-colored crater lakes reveal themselves in all their glory—each pool glowing in a distinct hue, shifting between turquoise, brown, and black depending on the light and season. Known locally as the “Mountain of the Spirits,” Kelimutu’s lakes are a natural phenomenon created by dissolved minerals, and they have captivated travelers for generations. Continuing our journey, we arrive at Denge Village, the trailhead for the trek to Wae Rebo.
