KOMODO TREKKING TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1. Labuan Bajo - Kelor Island - Manjerite Bay - Kalong Island (L/D)
Your Komodo Trekking Tour begins with a gentle welcome to Flores Island.
On the morning of your first day, our friendly driver and tour guide will meet you at your chosen location, whether that is your hotel in Labuan Bajo or Komodo Airport (LBJ) upon your arrival. You will be greeted with a warm smile and assisted with your luggage before being transferred comfortably by air-conditioned car to the harbor. Check in process at the harbor and your boat and crew will be ready and waiting to welcome you aboard. After a short briefing and a warm introduction to the team, we will set sail toward your first destination, leaving the bustle of the town behind and embracing the calm of the open water.
Our first stop is the beautiful Kelor Island. Here, you are invited to enjoy a short and rewarding trek to the top of the hill. The path is gentle and suitable for most fitness levels and the view at the summit is nothing short of spectacular. From above, you will see lush green hills melting into turquoise waters, with no crowds and no noise. Just you, the wind, and the horizon.
After descending from Kelor Island, we will sail to Menjerite Bay (also known as Manjarite). This hidden gem is one of the best snorkeling spots in Labuan Bajo. You are welcome to put on your mask and fins and explore the underwater world, vibrant coral gardens, schools of colorful tropical fish, and crystal-clear visibility await you.
As the afternoon gently turns to evening, we will sail toward Kalong Island, a place of true natural magic. Here, you will witness one of the most amazing attractions Komodo has to offer. As the sun begins to set, painting the sky in shades of orange, pink, and purple, thousands of fruit bats will rise from the mangrove forest and take flight across the twilight sky. It is a breathtaking spectacle. You are invited to enjoy this moment from the deck of your boat, perhaps with a warm cup of tea or coffee in hand.
Dinner & Overnight on the Boat
After the bats have flown and the stars begin to appear, our crew will serve a warm, freshly cooked dinner on board. You will eat under a canopy of stars, with the gentle sound of waves beneath you and the cool sea breeze around you. You will spend your first night sleeping on the boat, rocked gently to sleep by the rhythm of the ocean, waking up tomorrow already at your next destination.
Meals included: Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: On the boat
Day 2. Kalong Island - Rinca Island - Kambing Island - Padar Island (B/L/D)
Another beautiful day on the water begins. As the sun rises over the calm sea, our crew will gently wake you with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and tea. Breakfast will be served on deck, simple, warm, and enjoyed with a view that no hotel restaurant could ever match.
After breakfast, we will sail toward Rinca Island, one of only two places on earth where the magnificent Komodo dragon roams free in its natural habitat. Upon arrival, a local ranger will greet you and lead you on a guided trek through the island’s dry savanna forest. Rinca is often less crowded than Komodo Island, offering a more peaceful and intimate wildlife experience.
As you walk, keep your eyes open. You may spot: Komodo dragons basking in the morning sun or resting in the shade, wild deer grazing quietly in the distance, wild boar foraging among the trees, wild buffallow, and various bird species native to the island.
Your ranger will share stories about the behavior, habitat, and conservation of these ancient reptiles. Please remember, this is their home. We are guests here. A respectful distance is always maintained for your safety and their well-being.
After your trek on Rinca, you will return to the boat, and we will sail to Kambing Island (Goat Island). This quieter spot offers calm, clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
Here, you are invited to simply float, relax, and let the sea carry your cares away. The underwater scenery here is gentle and beautiful, a peaceful interlude in the middle of your adventure.
Lunch will be served on the boat, freshly cooked Indonesian dishes, prepared with care by our crew. You are welcome to eat at your own pace, relax on deck, or take a short rest before the afternoon’s highlight.
And now, the moment you have been waiting for. We arrive at Padar Island in the afternoon, when the light is golden and the crowds have thinned. A short but rewarding trek to the summit awaits you. The path is steep in places, but every step is worth it. And then you reach the top. Below you, three stunning bays curve into the turquoise sea, one with white sand, one with black sand, and one with pink sand. The view stretches to the horizon. The colors are almost impossible to believe.
This is the image you have seen in photographs. This is the postcard. But seeing it with your own eyes, feeling the wind on your face, standing where so few people ever stand, that is something no camera can fully capture. Take your time. Breathe it in. Take your photos. And when you are ready, we will make our way back down to the boat.
After descending from Padar, we will sail to a calm bay to anchor for the night. Dinner will be served on board, warm, comforting, and shared under a canopy of stars. You will sleep once again on the boat, gently rocked by the waves, dreaming of the adventures that still await.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: On the boat
Day 3. Komodo Island - Pink Beach - Manta Point - Taka Makasar - Gili Lawa Darat (B/L/D)
A new day dawns on the waters of Komodo National Park. As the first light of morning paints the sky in soft shades of gold and rose, our crew will prepare a warm breakfast for you on board. Eat slowly. Enjoy the view. Today is going to be extraordinary.
After breakfast, we will sail toward Komodo Island, the most famous home of the world’s largest living lizard. Upon arrival, a local ranger will greet you and lead you on a guided trekking adventure through the island’s ancient forests. As you walk, keep your senses alert. You may encounter: Majestic Komodo dragons basking in the morning light or resting in the shade, wild deer grazing quietly among the trees, wild boar foraging in the undergrowth, various bird species that call this island home
Your ranger will share fascinating stories about these incredible creatures their hunting strategies, their unique biology, and the ongoing efforts to protect them. Please remember: this is their territory. We are honored guests. A respectful distance is always maintained for your safety and their well-being.
After your trek on Komodo Island, we will sail to the world-famous Pink Beach — one of only a few pink sand beaches on earth. The sand gets its unique blush from crushed red coral mixed with white sand. It is subtle, beautiful, and unforgettable. Here, you are invited to: Snorkel in crystal-clear waters filled with colorful tropical fish, swim in the warm, calm sea, relax on the soft pink sand, perhaps with a good book or simply your own thoughts and take photographs that will make your friends back home truly envious.
Our next destination is Manta Point, a cleaning station where graceful manta rays often gather. We would like to be honest with you, as we always are: manta rays are wild creatures. They are not trained. They come and go as they please. Sightings depend on luck, weather, currents, and the mood of the mantas themselves. but when they do appear… magic happens. Imagine a giant shadow gliding beneath you. Then another. And another. These gentle giants, some with wingspans wider than your arms can reach, swim right past you. They are curious. They are graceful. They are breathtaking.
If you are lucky, you will swim with manta rays. If not, you will still enjoy one of the most beautiful snorkeling spots in Komodo — clear water, healthy corals, and plenty of fish.
After Manta Point, we will visit Taka Makassar, a stunning white sandbar in the middle of the turquoise sea. You can step off the boat and walk on sand with water stretching to the horizon in every direction.
This is a favorite spot for: Walking on the sandbar and feeling like you are standing in a postcard, snorkeling in the shallow, crystal-clear water around the sandbar, taking photos(the shots here are incredible) or simply sitting and letting the beauty of the moment wash over you.
As the afternoon gently begins to fade, we will sail toward Gili Lawa Darat, a dramatic island with a hilltop that offers one of the most magnificent sunset views in all of Indonesia. A short but invigorating trek to the summit awaits you. The path is steep in places, but the tour guide will guide you and encourage you every step of the way. And then, you reach the top. Before you, the entire Komodo archipelago stretches out like a painting. The sky begins its evening performance: gold, then orange, then pink, then purple, then deep blue. The islands cast long shadows across the water. The wind carries the scent of the sea. This is why you came all this way. This is the sunset you will remember for the rest of your life. Take your time. Take your photos. Take a deep breath. And when the last light has faded, we will make our way back down to the boat.
After descending from Gili Lawa Darat, dinner will be served on board, warm, and comforting under a blanket of stars. You will spend your third night sleeping on the boat, rocked gently by the waves, with the memories of dragons, pink sand, mantas, and a sunset still dancing in your mind.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: On the boat
Day 4. Gili Lawa Darat - Siaba Island - Sebayur Island - Labuan Bajo (B/L)
The final morning of your Komodo Trekking Tour arrives — softly, peacefully, like the gentle lapping of waves against the hull. You may wake up feeling a mixture of gratitude and sadness. Gratitude for all you have seen and experienced. Sadness that your journey is coming to an end. But take heart, your last day still holds beautiful moments yet to come.
As the sun rises over the calm sea, our crew will prepare a warm breakfast for you one last time. Eat slowly. Savor the view. Take a moment to sit on deck and reflect on the past three days; the dragons, the sunsets, the starry nights, the laughter shared with new friends.
After breakfast, we will sail to Siaba Island, a place lovingly nicknamed “Turtle Point” by those who know it well. This stunning snorkel site is one of the hidden gems of Komodo National Park. Beneath the surface, you will find calm, clear waters, vibrant coral gardens, and if you are lucky, some of the most graceful creatures in the sea. Sea turtles. Green turtles and hawksbill turtles often feed and rest in the waters around Siaba Island. Unlike manta rays, which can be unpredictable, the turtles here are frequent visitors. Many of our guests see not just one, but several turtles during their snorkel.
We invite you to slip into the water, put on your mask, and swim gently alongside these ancient mariners. Watch as they glide effortlessly through the water, surfacing occasionally for air, completely at ease in their natural home. Please remember: admire them from a respectful distance. Do not chase or touch them. We are guests in their world.
After saying goodbye to Siaba, we will sail to Sebayur Island, another beautiful snorkeling destination that offers a different kind of underwater beauty. Here, you are invited to enjoy one final snorkeling session in crystal-clear waters. The corals are healthy, the fish are plentiful, and the atmosphere is peaceful. Take your time. Breathe it all in. This is your last chance to float above a living reef before heading back to land.
After snorkeling at Sebayur, we will begin our journey back toward Labuan Bajo. Along the way, lunch will be served on board, freshly prepared, lovingly cooked, and enjoyed with a view that stretches to the horizon. As you eat, take a moment to thank your crew. They have cared for you, fed you, guided you, and kept you safe for four days. A warm smile and a sincere “terima kasih” (thank you) means more than you know.
We will sail peacefully toward Labuan Bajo, arriving at the harbor in the early to mid-afternoon. The journey is a time to rest, to share photos with your fellow travelers, and to let the memories settle into your heart.
Upon arrival at the harbor, our driver will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you comfortably by car to your chosen destination, Whether drop off at your hotel or directly to the Airport (LBJ: Komodo Airport) If you are continuing your journey to another destination.
Important Note for Airport Drop Off:
If you plan to fly on the same day, we kindly recommend booking an afternoon flight — preferably around 4:00 PM or later. This allows us to complete the full itinerary without rushing, ensures you do not miss any snorkeling spots, and gives you a comfortable, stress-free transfer to the airport. Our goal is to send you off with wonderful memories, not with anxiety about missing your flight.
And with that, your Komodo Trekking Tour comes to a close. You arrived as a traveler. You leave as an adventurer. You have trekked to the highest summits, snorkeled in the clearest waters, stood face to face with ancient dragons, slept under a canopy of stars, and witnessed sunsets that will stay with you forever. It is our greatest honor to have been part of your journey. Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for trusting us. And thank you for loving Komodo National Park as much as we do. Until we meet again, may the sea always call you home.
