If you are interested to see the beauty of Flores Island, after doing a Komodo tour. We have five days touring to explore Flores Island. This tour will start from Labuan Bajo and end up in Maumere or Ende town or vise sersa. There are many things to see and do during your visit since on Flores, since the island is very famous for its unique culture and incredible natural attractions.
FLORES TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1. Labuan Bajo - Denge - Wae Rebo (+/- 100 KM) Around 5-hrs Driving to Denge
Pick up at your accommodation in Labuan Bajo to start the trip to Wae Rebo Village. Driving to Denge Village. On the way will stop at few nice spots. Start trekking from Denge Village up to Wae Rebo through the dense forest for about 9KM. It is about three hours trekking. Wae Rebo Village is located in the mountain area with an altitude is 1,200M above sea level. You should be rather strong to trek up to the village.
Upon your arrival at Wae Rebo Village, you will see some unique traditional houses belong to the Manggarai tribe. You will feel the warm and nice welcomed by friendly local communities of Wae Rebo who live with a full of cultural nuance. The village is surrounded by a pure natural atmosphere. Overnight at one of the traditional houses in the village.
Day 2. Wae Rebo – Denge - Ruteng (+/- 70 KM) Around 3,5-hrs Driving
Breakfast at Wae Rebo village. Walk around to see and enjoy the Wae Rebo village, by interacting with the local community to learn about their way of life and their unique culture before leaving the village. Trekking down back to Denge village. Driving to Ruteng.
En route will stop at Cara Village in Cancar area see the incredible Ricefields scenary that seems like huge spider’s web. This is one of the most spectacular and unique spots on Flores. It is called Spider Web Ricefield. Heading to Ruteng to check in at your accommodation.
DAY 3. Ruteng – Bajawa (+/- 135KM) Around 5-hrs Driving
Pick up at your accommodation. Visit Liang Bua Natural Cave as the home of Home Floresiensis. Drive to Bajawa. En route will stop at natural crater lake of Ranamese Lake. Heading to Aimere Village where you can see how the local people produce alcoholic drink locally (it is called Arack Flores) which is processed out of palm juice. Continue to Bajawa for checking in at your chosen accommodation. In the afternoon will visit Mangeruda Natural Hot Spring to take a bath and relax.
DAY 4. Bajawa – Moni (+/- 170KM) Around 6-hrs Driving
Pick up at your accommodation. Driving to the unique traditional village which is called Bena Village. Walk around the village to make pictures and interact with friendly local inhabitants. Continue driving to Moni village. Stop at Blue Stone Beach to relax or take a bath. Driving to Moni Village via Ende town. Visit Wologai traditional Village. Check-In at your accommodation in Moni village.
DAY 5. Moni – Maumere (+/- 100KM) Around 3-hrs Driving or Moni – Ende (+/-50KM)
Very early morning wake up to start your trip to Kelimutu Three Color Lake. Driving from Moni to parking area is about an hour. Then, take a walk up to the Kelimutu volcano summit through the path stairs. The walking up will be around thirty minutes till the summit. From the summit of Kelimutu volcano, you can enjoy the wonderful landscape and see three amazing different color lakes called ‘Kelimutu Lake’.
After spending your time at Kelimutu, will walk down back to the Car Parking lot. Drive back to your accommodation at Moni village for breakfast. And then, driving to Maumere or Ende town. Check in at your chosen accommodation or will drop you off at the airport for the next destination.
