Homo Floresiensis cave tour  is a perfect tour program for you, where you will visit a natural cave called Liang Bua, as this place is well-known since the Indonesian-Australian archeologists discovered the new species of the ancient human being called Homo Floresienis fossils or nick name is hobbit on September 2003.

The Homo Floresiensis cave tour, will combine with Komodo dragon tour, trekking to Ranaka volcano as the highest mountain on Flores, nevertheless if you would like to modify that program without Ranaka volcano trekking, it will also be possible. 6D/5N. Homo Floresiensis Cave Tour & Ranaka Volcano Trekking

Day 01. Arrival at Labuan Bajo's Airport – Ruteng.

On your arrival in Labuan Bajo’s airport, west Flores, you will be picked up and meeting service with a local tour guide. Depart to Ruteng by AC car for about 4 hours to take overnight at your chosen hotel.

Day 02.Ruteng - Ranaka volcano trek - Homo Floresiensis Cave tour (Liang Bua cave) - Ruteng

Take a breakfast box from the hotel and an early morning drive to Robo village the gateway for the Ranaka volcano trek. Walking up for 9 Km, to get to the summit of Ranaka volcano, takes about 2 or 3 hours. En route will be entertained by the beautiful concert of the many kinds of birds. From the top of this volcano, you will enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the north, south, west, and east part of Flores.

Ranaka volcano is the highest peak on Flores Island at 2,400 meters above sea level its altitude and last eruption was in 1987, and nowadays is still smoking from its peak. Trekking down back to Robo village, then drive get back to Ruteng for lunch at a local restaurant. After having lunch will drive northward of Ruteng to do a special program of  Homo Floresiensis Cave Tour to visit Liang Bua a natural cave where Indonesian-Australian archeologists discovered the Homo Floresiensis fossils. This fossil’s nickname is the hobbit. Drive back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

 

Day 03. Ruteng – Labuan Bajo

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Labuan Bajo for about 5 hours. En route will stop at several places to making photos. Visit Ruteng Pu’u village to see a duplicate conical shape-like of the traditional house construction of the Manggarai ethnic with a huge megalithic stone for ancestral offerings in the middle of the village. On the way to Labuan Bajo will stop at Cara village to see the uniqueness of Lodok“ Division Land System of Manggraian that looks like “ Giant Spider’s Web ”. In the afternoon will arrive in Labuan Bajo and direct check-in at your hotel.

Day 04. Labuan Bajo - Rinca island - Pink Beach - Komodo island (L,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, will be transferred to the harbor to catch a wooden boat leaving for Rinca Island approx. 2 ½ hours. After arriving on Rinca Island, you will do the trek that’s accompanied by the local Ranger to explore the island to see the Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. Rinca Island is also home to some wild animals like Wild Water Buffaloes, Deer, Long Tail Macaques, Wild Board, Wild Horse, etc. Keep your eyes up to the trees, if you are lucky sometimes you will also find small Komodo dragons on the trees to avoid themselves from adult dragons. After trekking on Rinca Island will get back to the boat to continue the trip to the fabulous Pink Beach on Komodo Island about 2 ½ hours to snorkel, relax, and swim.  At noon will ride the boat to one of the small islands around Komodo for overnight. Lunch will also be served on the boat.

Day 05. Komodo island - Manta point  - Kanawa island - Labuan Bajo (B, L)

Breakfast on the boat, then trekking to explore the island of Komodo. Along the trek, you will be welcomed and entertained by a beautiful concert of many kinds of tropical birds. This island is also home to Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Water Buffalo, etc. After trekking will get back to the boat to continue the trip to Manta Point to snorkel with huge Manta rays. If you are lucky, you can even watch them from the boat (Trip to manta point is not 100% guaranteed to go and see manta ray. It’ll not take this trip if the sea condition is quite extreme such as strong current, high wave or strong wind). After spending your time in Manta Point, will continue the trip to another fabulous white sandy beach called Kanawa Island for swimming, relaxing, and snorkeling in the crystal clear water with the nice coral reef and thousands of colorful fish. In the afternoon will get back to Labuan Bajo. Lunch will be served on the boat and overnight is at your chosen hotel in Labuan Bajo.

Day 06. Hotel - Mirror Rock Cave - Airport.

Today is the last day of your Homo Floresiensis cave tour in West Flores Indonesia. After having breakfast at your hotel, you will do a city sightseeing tour around Labuan Bajo to visit a daily local market and Batu Cermin cave (Natural Crystal Rock Cave), to see the beautiful stalactite and stalagmite, big black spider, little fruit bats, and some marine fossils. After visiting the cave will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to the next destination.
